Say hello.
We're a small family shop, and one of us reads every message. Most questions are answered below.
How to reach us.
Questions, a lid that broke, a batch you missed — write to info@grandmaslids.com and it comes straight to Tom. Pre-orders go through the shop.
Questions, answered.
What comes in a set?
A canister, a screw-on top with a slot in it, and 13 blank lids — orange canister, white screw top and white lids, $34.99. The set is 3.1 inches wide and 3.1 inches tall.
Why 13 lids?
Because each lid takes a sticker on both faces. Thirteen lids gives you 26 faces, so a single sticker sheet covers the whole alphabet without us shipping you 26 lids.
Do the stickers come already on the lids?
No. The first batch ships with blank lids, and the Letters sticker pack comes with batch 2, after the base toy has passed safety testing. Even then the stickers come on a sheet, not on the lids — and that's on purpose. Peeling a sticker and getting it onto a lid is fiddly work for small fingers, which makes it part of the activity rather than something we do at a factory.
What's different about the letters?
Each letter is paired with a picture of something that starts with that letter's sound — A with an apple, B with a ball. When you look at the lid and name the picture, you say the sound out loud without having to think about it.
When does it ship?
Right now it's pre-orders only, for a first batch of 20 sets. Nothing ships until it has passed independent safety testing. If the ship date moves, you'll hear from us first and can cancel for a full refund.
What age is it for?
18 months to 4 years, with a grown-up nearby. It's supervised play.
What if it doesn't work out?
Email us inside thirty days and we'll refund you. You don't have to ship it back — we'd rather you passed it on to a friend whose toddler might take to it.
What if it breaks?
We'll replace it, for a full year. Take it away from your child, send us a photo, and we'll print you another one. The whole point of this toy is that the first one still works after fifty years.
